Greetings!

My name is Kevin Scott Norton, and I live in sunny Palm Coast, Florida. I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember, and I’ve finally decided to dive into it headfirst.

I enjoy crafting stories and writing blog posts, and I’m currently putting the finishing touches on my first young adult novel. Check out my website to learn more about me and my writing projects. I have a free short story for you to enjoy, and be on the lookout for the debut of my new novel, which will be published as an eBook.

These days, we've gotten away from telling timeless stories.

I’ve been an avid reader since I was very young, and my goal in writing stories for young adults is to pass my love of reading on to them.

What I’ve noticed, though, is that most of today’s stories are all about the action and excitement. While those are fun, they might not stick with you for very long. I want to write stories that are more like the old classics that stay in your heart for a long time after you read them. To do that, I look at big ideas that have stood the test of time, like the stories in the Bible or ones my family passed down to me. These stories talk about important ideas like truth, good vs. evil, and how time works.

As a new writer, I’m excited to learn and grow with all of you on this journey!

The Spirit in Charlestown

A Young Adult eBook
By Kevin Scott Norton

Teenage siblings Kyle and Abby are at bitter odds. Their father favors Abby’s vacation plans, and Kyle must take a history-focused trip to Charleston, South Carolina. Full of resentment, Kyle arrives and meets a fascinating tour guide. The strange man offers Kyle a unique opportunity. It’s a chance to solve a mysterious legend that may earn him blessings from his father while costing him a sister. The biblical account of Cain and Abel inspired this story.

New short story

The Oil in the Lamp

My grandmother was the daughter of Italian immigrants. She’d often spin old tales about our family history at Sunday dinners. One was a conversation she overheard between her brother, James, and their dad. James had just returned home after serving in World War II. Like most vets, he was reluctant to share any details. However, through an accident, he’d served some time in Italy. Consequently, my great-grandfather pressed him for information. The Oil in the Lamp is a fictional retelling of my grandmother’s account.
